It's great for you! Focus on lean proteins like fish and chicken, but don't be scared to eat lean cuts of beef or other animals either.
Many fruits and vegetables offer your body a clean source of carbs that will give you proper energy, without the crash. Many of these will also give your body the fiber it needs to operate smoothly and efficiently. Also, eat foods with high potassium, like dark and leafy greens, avocados and bananas. These fruits and vegetables are great sources of plant phytochemicals, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Eating these, along with things like nuts and green tea, will help boost your immune system, and will help balance out the natural chemicals your body needs to operate at its optimum level.
While you want to avoid saturated fats, small amounts of some fats are okay, and some fats are even beneficial. A controlled amount of monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, is allowable. Everything in moderation, though. You also want to seek out the healthy omega 3 and omega 6 fats.
Focus on foods with a low sodium content. That also means don't add any sodium to your foods. Don't pick up that salt shaker!
